This policy explains what personal data Scenday collects through scenday.com, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have.
1. Who we are
Scenday is a personalized fragrance discovery platform that helps you decide what to sample, buy, wear, keep, and replace before you spend. The site is operated independently from London, United Kingdom; we're not owned by any fragrance house. "Scenday", "we", and "us" mean the company behind scenday.com, and we are the data controller for personal data processed through this site.

2. Information we collect
We collect as little as we can while still running the site and honouring what you ask us to do.
2.1 Information you give us
When you join the waitlist or complete a quiz, you give us your email address and any answers you choose to provide. When you email one of our desks, we receive whatever is in that message.
2.2 Information collected automatically
Our analytics are consent-gated. Google's measurement library loads with every consent signal denied: it sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device until you choose; before consent it sends only cookieless, aggregate pings. If you consent to analytics cookies, Google Analytics measures aggregate activity (which pages help, which don't) and Microsoft Clarity records anonymised session replays (with typed input masked) so we can see where pages confuse people. Our own measurement library (PostHog, hosted in the EU) also runs under the same analytics consent: it records how features are used and, on pages where you interact with a tool or form, a replay of that session (typed input masked). When you join the waitlist we additionally store a one-way hashed identifier derived from your email address so we can recognise the same person across our sites, never the address itself. If you also consent to marketing, Google's advertising signals are enabled; we run no advertising pixels today. Separately, our host provides cookieless, aggregate traffic counts (Cloudflare Web Analytics) that store nothing on your device. Our servers also process standard technical data (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver and secure the site.
3. How we use your information
We use personal data only for the purposes below, each with a lawful basis under UK and EU data-protection law.

We never sell your personal data, and we don't use it for third-party advertising.
4. Legal bases for processing
Where we rely on consent (marketing emails, analytics cookies), you can withdraw it anytime: every email has an unsubscribe link, and the Cookie Policy has a control for analytics. Where we rely on legitimate interests, we've weighed those against your rights, and you can object (see section 8).
7. How long we keep your data
We keep personal data only as long as we need it. Waitlist and subscription data is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Aggregate analytics are retained on a rolling basis.
8. Your rights
Under UK and EU data-protection law you have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you.
- Correct data that's wrong or incomplete.
- Delete your data ("erasure").
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Portability: receive your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time.
To exercise any of these, email privacy@scenday.com. You can also complain to your data-protection authority: in the UK, the ICO.
9. International transfers
Some providers process data outside the UK and EEA, for example Google and Microsoft in the United States. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK and EU standard contractual clauses and applicable adequacy decisions.
10. Children's privacy
Scenday is intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and we never ask for your age. If you believe a child gave us data, contact us and we'll delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we update the version and effective date above and, for material changes, give notice through the site or by email.
