from scent + day, the question we help you answer: which scent, today?
Scenday: a personalized fragrance discovery platform
Scenday is a personalized fragrance discovery platform that helps you decide what to sample, buy, wear, keep, and replace before you spend.
Fragrance has never been bigger.
Choosing well has never been harder.

The world doesn’t need more fragrances.
It needs a better way to decide.
The instinct is already there: 80% of buyers test a fragrance before purchasing (Highsnobiety, State of Fragrance). Sample-first turns that instinct into a method; research notes live in our methodology.
It began as an expensive habit.
It started with a shelf of good intentions. Our founder kept buying fragrance the way most people do (on a review, a compliment, a whim) and kept ending up with bottles that sat unworn. Expensive lessons in a taste he didn’t yet understand.
The frustrating part wasn’t the money. It was that nothing out there actually helped you decide. Shops want to sell you the next bottle. Forums argue in circles. Databases list every perfume ever made and decide nothing for you. The one question no one answered was: is this one right for me?
So we started building the missing thing: an independent guide that reads your taste and tells you what’s worth your money, your skin, and your shelf.
Today that’s what Scenday is: a small, independent company in London, with guides live at scenday.com, decision tools on the way, and a standing promise that the advice stays honest.
We named it for the question it answers:
scent + day · “which scent, today?”
Too many wrong bottles led to one better question.

Scenday began with a familiar problem: fragrances that sounded right, looked right, and still went unworn. The first step was simple: sample before buying, record what worked on skin, and look for the signals behind personal taste.
Those notes became a way to map personal taste into a scent profile. That method became Scenday, a personalized fragrance discovery platform designed to help you decide what to sample, wear, keep, or skip before you spend.
Scenday is built by a small independent team of fragrance lovers. No fragrance house owns us, and no brand decides what we recommend.
“We built Scenday around the method we wished fragrance shopping already had: sample first, understand your taste, then decide.”
The Scenday Team
The Scenday Editorial Desk
The desk that writes Scenday’s guides: a fragrance writer and the founder. It works to a short set of rules, published so you can hold us to them.
- Reviewed by the founder.
- Every lesson is read and approved by the founder before it is published and again after any substantive change.
- Sourced, not asserted.
- Each lesson cites three to five primary or authoritative sources, listed at the end of the lesson.
- Disclosed when AI helps.
- Where it does, the lesson’s colophon says so; all editing, review and judgement are human.
- Corrected in the open.
- Mistakes are fixed in place and recorded in the Corrections & updates log with the date and what changed.
Independent by design: no fragrance house owns Scenday and no brand decides what we publish. Questions about a lesson: editorial standards · contact.
You should spend on fragrance you’ll actually wear.
Four working principles: the ledger every recommendation is checked against.
from the Scenday desk, London
How we reach a recommendation: proprietary AI, built on fragrance science.
A proprietary matching algorithm
120,000+ perfumes mapped by composition feed a matching algorithm that scores every fragrance against your scent profile, not a bestseller chart.
Advanced fragrance AI, on the way
A scent-profile engine that learns what you actually like (fresh or warm, soft or bold) and puts it to work across every decision, before you spend.
The best of science and tech
A London team of scientists, engineers, and fragrance obsessives: the people teaching the technology what great taste smells like.
A company built deliberately, one decision at a time.
The expensive lesson
Years of blind buys and unworn bottles: the problem, felt first-hand before it was ever a company.
- Blind buys
- Unworn bottles
- Taste still unclear
The method takes shape
120,000+ fragrances mapped by composition; the five-decision framework and the ranking methodology written down.

- Wear context
